In our blouse and cardigan collection, you’ll find close-fitting knitwear—classic styles made from cashmere and yak wool from Mongolia (the Republic of Mongolia, not the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia). We’ve chosen to restyle a few styles rather than create new ones every season. What you find here today will likely still be here in two years—perhaps in a new color.

Sweaters

Cashmere

The simplest form of warmth. A classic cashmere sweater like Saran feels soft against the skin and retains its shape season after season. We’ve chosen subtle colors that are easy to pair—natural, taupe, gray-beige—with a few darker shades for contrast.

Cardigans

Cashmere

A piece you can easily slip on and off. Alma is our basic cardigan style and comes in several colors. The cardigan is often the piece you wear most, so the quality of the knitting, sewing, and fastening is more important than many people realize.

Turtlenecks

Cashmere

High-neck sweaters. Ulzii and Tuya are our current styles—the warmest sweaters we make, without being too tight around the neck.

Blouses

Cashmere and yak wool

The lightest knitted layer—thinner than sweaters, perfect for mild winters and transitional seasons. Oyu is our cashmere blouse, and Ulaan is the one made from yak wool.

Vests

Cashmere and yak wool

An extra layer of warmth in short sleeves—to wear under a jacket or directly over a shirt. Solongo in yak wool and Tselmeg in cashmere are our signature styles.

Hoodies

Cashmere

The latest addition to the collection. A Namuun cashmere hoodie with a classic cut, but made of Mongolian cashmere—not cotton.

The materials

Cashmere is the lightest fiber. Yak wool is heavier and more durable—and the fiber that has the least impact on the steppe, because yaks graze more gently than goats.

Our Approach

We buy from Mongolian producers, not directly from the herders. This is something we write about—along with our goals and how far we’ve actually come.
