What is the difference between cashmere, yak wool, and camel wool?

All three are natural wool types from Mongolia, but each has its own unique characteristics: cashmere is the classic, soft luxury wool; yak wool is warm, soft, and the most gentle option; camel wool is golden, temperature-regulating, and lightweight. Read more at Cashmere, Yak, and Camel Wool.

Is it real Mongolian cashmere?

Yes. Our materials and products come from the Republic of Mongolia—not to be confused with the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia. Both the raw wool and the finished product remain in Mongolia, which is unusual: most cashmere is processed outside the country.

Why is cashmere so expensive?

It’s a labor-intensive material. A goat produces only a small amount of fine undercoat each year; it’s hand-combed in the spring, and it takes wool from at least three goats to make a single sweater. Quality that takes time.

Care

How do I wash cashmere and wool?

Gentle care — hand wash or use the wool cycle at a low temperature, use a mild wool detergent, and lay flat to dry. See our step-by-step guide to caring for fine wool fibers.

My product is shedding—is something wrong?

No, light lint is completely normal for natural fibers at first and will disappear over time. A wool comb or lint remover can help. See the care guide for more information.

How do I store it so it doesn't get moth-eaten?

Clean and folded, preferably in a sealed bag or drawer. Wash or air out before long-term storage—moths are attracted to stains and body oils. See the care guide.

Where do you deliver, and how long does delivery take?

We ship to Denmark and Sweden; standard delivery time in Denmark is 1–2 business days.

Can I return this?

Yes, you have a 14-day return policy. The item must be unused and in its original condition. Please contact us, and we'll be happy to assist you.

Can I pick up my order at the showroom?

Yes—you can pick up your order at our showroom in Søborg by appointment.

Sustainability & Animal Welfare

Is Undarmaa a sustainable company?

We don’t call ourselves sustainable today—that would be making too big a promise. But we’re consciously working toward that goal: we know where our materials come from, choose natural fibers, keep production in Mongolia, and focus on fewer, better, and more durable products. How is the wool harvested?

The fine undercoat is combed out by hand in the spring, when the animals shed naturally—a gentler process than shearing, and the guard hairs remain intact, so the animal is still protected.
