Tungal leg warmers

These leg warmers are knitted from pure yak wool from Mongolia and have a natural, dark brown colour. Yak wool is known for its exceptional warmth and breathability - a property that makes them perfect in both cold and changing weather.

The shorter model (38 cm) provides good freedom of movement and fits nicely over tights, leggings or directly against the skin. Use them to keep your calves warm on walks, at home or as a discreet layer under clothing on cold days.

Each leg warmer is knitted with slight elasticity, so they fit comfortably without being tight.

Yak wool stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

Yak wool comes from the animal's soft undercoat, just like cashmere from the goat — it's not the guard hairs but the layer beneath that's used. It's combed out in spring, when the animal naturally sheds its winter coat.

A single yak yields enough wool for a whole sweater on its own — far more than a single cashmere goat can provide. Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia, the same place the animals live.
