Nekhmel hand-spun yarn

This exclusive hand-spun yarn in 100% Mongolian cashmere is made by Eeltei Baylag – an organization that brings together nine local cooperatives that work for more responsible and transparent cashmere production in Mongolia.

Each skein is hand-spun by Naraa in Ulaanbaatar, bearing the hallmarks of her craftsmanship and experience. The yarn has a soft, vibrant texture and a natural elasticity, making it ideal for everything from lightweight sweaters to scarves and accessories.

Available in two natural colours – Natural white and Natural sand – without dyeing, so the original shine and softness of the fibres are preserved.

• 100% Mongolian cashmere
• 100 g per skein, approx. 120–150 meters, 2-ply
• Recommended needle: 3–4 mm
• Wash after knitting at 30°C wool program or hand wash.

Cashmere stays beautiful for the longest time with gentle handling. Air your clothes between uses and wash them in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid twisting. Store folded rather than on a hanger to maintain shape.

Cashmere is the goat's finest undercoat — the innermost layer that keeps the animal warm through the Mongolian winter. That's why the fibre can be both light and warm at once, and why it feels soft against the skin rather than scratchy.

Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia. That's rarer than it sounds: Mongolia is the world's second-largest supplier of raw cashmere, but only a small share is processed into finished garments in the country. Most is sent elsewhere for production.
