Tuul hat

Tuul is knitted in 100% yak wool and has a dense, soft quality that gives good warmth on cold days. The classic shape with a folded edge makes the hat simple to wear and easy to combine with coats, jackets and knitwear alike. Natural platinum grey is yak wool's own natural grey shade and therefore completely undyed, giving a discreet, mottled play of colour. A warm, uncomplicated hat where the material's softness and natural look take centre stage.

Yak wool stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

Yak wool comes from the animal's soft undercoat, just like cashmere from the goat — it's not the guard hairs but the layer beneath that's used. It's combed out in spring, when the animal naturally sheds its winter coat.

A single yak yields enough wool for a whole sweater on its own — far more than a single cashmere goat can provide. Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia, the same place the animals live.
