CARE

Cashmere stays beautiful longest when handled gently. Air your clothes between wears and wash them in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid twisting. Store folded rather than on a hanger to preserve the shape.

MATERIALS

Cashmere is known for its exceptional softness, lightness, and warmth. The wool comes from the undercoat of goats that live in Mongolia's harsh climate, providing a luxurious and timeless material for clothing that can be worn all year round.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the wool really come from Mongolia?

Yes. Both the raw cashmere and the finished product come from the Republic of Mongolia—not the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia, with which it is often confused. This is actually quite unusual: Mongolia supplies a large portion of the world’s raw cashmere, but by far the majority of it is knitted and sewn outside the country. We keep the entire production chain in Mongolia.

What is the difference between cashmere, yak wool, and camel wool?

All three are natural types of wool from Mongolia, but each has its own unique characteristics. Cashmere is the classic, soft, luxurious wool. Yak wool is warm, soft, and the gentlest choice. Camel wool is golden, lightweight, and temperature-regulating. Read more under Materials.

Why does it cost what it costs?

Because it’s a slow-growing material. A goat yields only a small handful of fine undercoat per year. It’s combed out by hand in the spring, when the animal naturally sheds, and it takes wool from several goats to make just one piece of knitwear. Added to that are small-scale production runs and timeless, classic designs rather than new collections every season. We’d rather make fewer items that last for many years.

Can you help me choose the right size?

Yes, and we’d be happy to help. Email us at undarmaa@undarmaa.com or call us at +45 42 21 24 84—we know the products well and can help you find the right size. You’re also welcome to visit our showroom in Søborg, where you can try them on. We’re open by appointment.

My product is shedding—is something wrong?

No. Slight linting is completely normal for natural fibers at first and will disappear over time as the loose fibers work their way out. A wool comb or lint remover can help speed up the process. This is not a sign of poor quality—on the contrary, it’s the fine, soft undercoat that’s making itself known.
