Solongo vest

Solongo has a long, straight cut with wide, slightly dropped shoulders that cover more of the upper arm than a classic vest — so it works just as well over a shirt as on bare arms. The small, smooth collar sits close without pinching.

The vest can be worn long and loose, or gathered at the waist with a belt.

Available in natural melange – a deep, dark brown mottled shade in undyed yak wool. Available in S/M and L/XL. The model is 187 cm tall and wears size L/XL.

Yak wool stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

Yak wool comes from the animal's soft undercoat, just like cashmere from the goat — it's not the guard hairs but the layer beneath that's used. It's combed out in spring, when the animal naturally sheds its winter coat.

A single yak yields enough wool for a whole sweater on its own — far more than a single cashmere goat can provide. Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia, the same place the animals live.
