Chuluun cardigan

Chuluun is a cardigan in 100% undyed yak wool with a wide shawl collar and buttons all the way down. The rib knit runs through the whole cardigan and gives it structure, and the shawl collar lies flat around the neck and can be turned up when it is cold.

Chuluun runs small – choose one size larger than usual. Available in Natural dark brown – the yak’s own dark brown colour.

Yak wool stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

Yak wool comes from the animal's soft undercoat, just like cashmere from the goat — it's not the guard hairs but the layer beneath that's used. It's combed out in spring, when the animal naturally sheds its winter coat.

A single yak yields enough wool for a whole sweater on its own — far more than a single cashmere goat can provide. Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia, the same place the animals live.
