Our Sor yak wool yarn is produced in a small factory in Ulan Bator, where great respect is shown for natural fibers and local traditions. The yarn consists of 100% yak wool from the highlands of Mongolia – known for its softness, strength, and natural warmth.

Each fiber comes from yaks that live in extreme temperatures, giving the yarn a unique ability to insulate while feeling light against the skin. The colors Yak Mocha and Yak Dark Brown are natural colors, undyed and completely free of chemical treatment, preserving the authentic character of the yarn.

Yak wool is naturally warm, breathable, and durable. It comes from the yak, which lives on the Mongolian plateau, where it is adapted to extreme temperatures. The yarn provides a soft but robust material with a natural, rustic look.

Yak wool requires the same gentle treatment as cashmere. Wash in lukewarm water with a mild wool detergent and dry flat on a towel. Air frequently instead of washing to preserve the natural properties of the fibers.
