Saridag wrist warmers

Saridag is knitted in 100% yak wool and has a short, close-fitting shape that covers the wrist and part of the hand, while the fingers stay free. The elastic ribbed structure gives a comfortable hold, and the thumb hole keeps them in place. The dark brown colour is yak wool's own natural shade and therefore completely undyed. The wrist warmers are good at the computer, on walks, or as an extra warm layer under gloves on cold days.

Yak wool stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

Yak wool comes from the animal's soft undercoat, just like cashmere from the goat — it's not the guard hairs but the layer beneath that's used. It's combed out in spring, when the animal naturally sheds its winter coat.

A single yak yields enough wool for a whole sweater on its own — far more than a single cashmere goat can provide. Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia, the same place the animals live.
