Erdenet plaid

Erdenet combines Mongolian cashmere and yak wool in a calm blend of light blue and natural grey. The discreet herringbone pattern brings the two shades together and gives the plaid more structure than a plain surface, without the look becoming bold. The cashmere adds lightness, while the yak wool gives good insulation and warmth. At 120 × 180 cm, Erdenet sits well over the legs on the sofa, around the shoulders, or as an extra layer on the bed. The plaid is made in Mongolia from 50% cashmere and 50% yak wool.

Cashmere stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

This throw is knitted from two fibres — cashmere from Mongolia's goats and yak wool from the mountain ox that lives on the country's high plateau. Both are the animals' soft undercoat, combed out in spring when they naturally shed.

Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia.
