Erdene classic neck scarf

Erdene is a classic neck scarf in 100% Mongolian yak wool with a slightly fuller look. The natural platinum grey shade is undyed and comes straight from the yak wool's own colour, giving the scarf a calm, distinctive appearance. At 25 × 180 cm there's plenty of length to wrap around the neck, while still being simple to wear with both jackets and coats. Yak wool insulates effectively, making Erdene an obvious choice on cold days when you want a little extra warmth around the neck.

Yak wool stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

Yak wool comes from the animal's soft undercoat, just like cashmere from the goat — it's not the guard hairs but the layer beneath that's used. It's combed out in spring, when the animal naturally sheds its winter coat.

A single yak yields enough wool for a whole sweater on its own — far more than a single cashmere goat can provide. Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia, the same place the animals live.
