Mandal plaid

Mandal is double-knitted in 50% Mongolian yak wool and 50% camel wool, with two clearly different sides: dark camel on one, black on the other. This makes it easy to change the look depending on how the plaid is draped over the sofa, over the bed, or around the body. The combination of the two wool types gives a warm, full quality, while the colours create a simple contrast between the golden camel wool and the dark yak wool. A plaid with a little more weight and character than the very light qualities, well suited for the cooler months.

Yak wool stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

This throw is knitted from two fibres — yak wool from the mountain ox of the Mongolian high plateau, and camel wool from the Mongolian camel. Both are the animals' soft undercoat, combed out in spring when they naturally shed.

Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia.
