Chimeg cardigan

Chimeg is a classic cardigan with a round neck, buttons all the way down and two patch pockets at the front. The ribbed edges at the neck, wrists and hem hold their shape, so the cardigan sits well both closed and open.

Chimeg has a straight, regular fit and ends at the hip, so it works with both skirts and trousers. Available in Natural taupe – a grey-brown shade in undyed cashmere – as well as Black and Bordeaux.

Cashmere stays beautiful longest with gentle handling. Air your garment between wears, and wash it in cold water with wool detergent. Dry flat and avoid wringing. Store folded rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

Cashmere is the goat's finest undercoat — the innermost layer that keeps the animal warm through the Mongolian winter. That's why the fibre can be both light and warm at once, and why it feels soft against the skin rather than scratchy.

Both the yarn and the knitting are made in Mongolia. That's rarer than it sounds: Mongolia is the world's second-largest supplier of raw cashmere, but only a small share is processed into finished garments in the country. Most is sent elsewhere for production.
